HONOLULU (HawaiiNewsNow) – Four-time Grammy Award winners BOYZ II MEN, whose a capella harmonies and flawless vocal performances have made them the most successful R&B group of all time, will appear in concert in Hawaii for two nights: Saturday, December 10th at Maui Arts & Cultural Center's Castle Theater, and Sunday, December 11th at Blaisdell Arena in Honolulu.
With over 60 million records sold around the world, BOYZ II MEN is the world's most popular R&B group; their talent, however, is not confined to their Motown roots. While their critically acclaimed 2007 release, "Motown: A Journey Through Hitsville USA," produced by American Idol's Randy Jackson, paid homage to record label compadres like the Temptations, Marvin Gaye, and Smokey Robinson and the Miracles, 2009's "Love" proved that R&B was only a part of BOYZ II MEN's repertoire.
Their undeniable versatility and craftsmanship shined on classic
covers of hits by artists like Chicago, Journey, the Beatles, and Cydni Lauper.
Michael Buble, who collaborated with the group on his 2007 recording, "Come Home, Baby," reprised the effort by appearing on "When I Fall In Love." BOYZ II MEN hold several distinguished positions on the Billboard Hot 100 chart, including most weeks at number one in the top three categories – a triple play not shared by any other artist: 16 weeks (the most weeks ever for a song) for
"One Sweet Day," a duet with Mariah Carey, released in 1995, 14 weeks for "I'll Make Love To You," released in 1994, and 13 weeks for "End of the Road," released in 1992.
In between worldwide tours, BOYZ vocalist Shawn Stockman finds time to judge contestants on NBC TV's successful Monday night talent showcase, "the Sing-Off," bringing his expertise in a capella to bear when determining the weekly winners...and losers.
