HILO (HawaiiNewsNow) - Big Island police are trying to find out how an 84-year-old man ended up dead at the bottom of a ravine near Hilo.
Police are looking into whether foul play was involved.
The man's body was found Tuesday evening near a macadamia nut farm on Kaiwiki Road.
According to police, the landowner found the man's vehicle. The victim was last seen by a caregiver on Sunday.
Out partners at the Star Advertiser report that officers found his shoes near the vehicle and that his body showed signs of injuries.
An autopsy has been ordered to find out the exact cause of death.
A fire helicopter airlifted the body out of the area.
