No tsunami threat from 6.7 quake in Papua New Guinea

EWA BEACH (HawaiiNewsNow) - The Pacific Tsunami Warning Center in Ewa Beach said no Pacific-wide tsunami was generated when a magnitude 6.7 earthquake shook Papua New Guinea Thursday evening, Hawaii time.

According to U.S. Geological Survey, the quake happened at 5:35 p.m. HST about 200 miles north-northeast of Port Moresby, the capital of Papua New Guinea. There were no immediate reports of damage or injuries.
