HONOLULU (HawaiiNewsNow) - Don't panic, Hau'ula residents. It's only a drill.
The City Department of Emergency Management and Hawaii State Civil Defense announced Tuesday that they will be testing an outdoor warning siren at Hau'ula Beach Park on Wednesday between 9:00am and 1:00pm.
The test is being conducted to ensure that the siren is operating at full power and providing optimal range.
Despite the warning sirens, residents and businesses in the surrounding communities should not be alarmed, according to Civil Defense officials.
Hawaii State Civil Defense funds the purchase and installation of these sirens. Once they are installed, they are released to the City for monthly testing and emergency activation.
