Coming Up on Hawaii News Now Monday

Aloha from Hawaii News Now ...

A state judge handed down a stiff sentence today for a man convicted of sexually assaulting a woman in Wahiawa. At today's sentencing hearing, City Prosecutors argued that Tyrone Smith Junior was a danger to all woman in the community. Smith, meanwhile, claimed he's innocent. Tonight, Minna Sugimoto takes us inside the courtroom.

Developing now: the "Occupy Wall Street" protests are spreading across the United States -- even to Honolulu. Tonight, protestors are expected along Ala Moana Boulevard with their anti-big bank message.

Hurricane Jova strengthened to a major Category 3 hurricane today. And it's already causing flooding for parts of Mexico's Pacific coast. Guy Hagi has the latest pictures from the storm and it's current location.

And Netflix is making people dizzy. Today, it announced another about face change. The mail order video rental company today said it will not branch off its DVD rental side under a new name and company. We have more on that change, tonight at 5.

These are just some of the reasons why I hope you'll join Stephanie Lum and me and Guy Hagi tonight for Hawaii News Now at 5 and 5:30 on KGMB and KHNL.

Aloha,

Shawn Ching
