Cold Hawaii Murder Case Featured On National Show

PUNA (HawaiiNewsNow) – Nationally televised show, Cold Blood will revisit a notorious Big Island Murder case that happened almost a decade ago.

Dana Ireland, a 23-year old tourist took a bike ride on a Puna road during Christmas Eve in 1991 when she was hit by a car, raped, murdered and left to die.

The case dragged through the courts for years and Ireland's father also announced a $28,000 reward for any information on his daughter's death. The episode captures the drama Hawaii police trying to search for answers, as the reward entices people with faulty information. Eventually Frank Pauline, Jr. and brothers; Albert and Shawn Schweitzer were convicted in connection with the murder of Ireland.

The episode, "Island Lies" will air on Sunday at 9pm on Investigation Discovery.
