Apple says company co-founder Steve Jobs has died

CUPERTINO, Calif. (HawaiiNewsNow) - Apple, Inc. says that Steve Jobs died on Wednesday, the Associated Press has reported. He was 56.

In a brief statement the company said Jobs died Wednesday. He had been battling pancreatic cancer.

His death comes less than two months after he resigned as CEO of Apple, Inc. In his resignation letter, dated August 24, 2011, Jobs wrote that he "could no longer meet [his] duties and expectations as Apple's CEO."
