California visitor missing on Kauai after swim

PO'IPU, Kauai (HawaiiNewsNow)- Charles Slezak, 67-year-old visitor from Canoga Park, California, is missing after reportedly going for a swim at around 3:30pm yesterday afternoon near the Kiahuna Plantation in Po'ipu.

Slezak is described as being around six feet tall and approximately 195 pounds, with black hair, green eyes and of fair complexion. He is of Caucasian descent.

Air 1 and Fire Rescue personnel have been searching the coastal area of Po'ipu since early this morning. A Coast Guard helicopter and patrol vessel have been aiding in the search.

Slezak was last seen wearing black and white floral surf shorts, a light blue collared t-shirt, and carrying swim fins.

Anyone with information about Slezak's whereabouts is urged to call KPD Dispatch at 241-1711, Investigative Services Bureau at 241-1696 or Crime Stoppers at 241-1887.
