HONOLULU (HawaiiNewsNow)-The Well of Hope Golf Tournament in Memory of Mike Elinski begins at noon at Waikele Golf Course on Oahu. Sponsorship levels at $1100, $600 and $250 per pair of three-person teams.
While in Ethiopia, the Hawaii residents learned that children in the country walked three hours each day to fetch water from a dirty pond, which was shared by animals.
Five years later, the project is completed, bringing clean water to five villages and one school, serving 10,000 people.
Proceeds will help to pay off balance due for the initial $60,000 drilling cost of the Well of Hope and to start a scholarship honoring Elinski.
Sign-ups for the tournament are still being accepted, as well as donations of Team Prizes or Door Prizes. For more information, visit www.thewellofhopefoundation.org or call (808) 228-4499.
