Coming Up on Hawaii News Now Monday

Hi, I hope your Monday is going well. Here's what we are working on right now for Hawaii News Now at 5 and 5:30.

We're learning more about the 22-year old man from Kapolei who died over the weekend soon after jumping off a tower in a Nuuanu reservoir. Tim Sakahara reports tonight on the dual investigation of the Honolulu Police Department and the Board of Water Supply.

Were you one of the unlucky ones caught in traffic after a tree blocked all of South King Street today? We'll show the pictures that some of our viewers are sending in. Man, that was a big tree!

Also, it was invented by ancient Hawaiians, and now Hawaii high school athletes can "officially" compete in it starting as soon as 2013.

Using hammers and chisels, city workers began pounding a historic Waikiki monument today, all to protect the safety of swimmers and beach goers. Ramsay Wharton shows us the start of the work.

And -- talk about "team work" -- it may the weirdest marathon you've ever seen. That's at 5:30.

That's it for now until you join Stephanie Lum, Ben Gutierrez and me at 5 and 5:30.

See you then!

Aloha,

Shawn Ching
