Victim in fatal Maui motorcycle crash identified

KAHULUI, Maui (HawaiiNewsNow) - Maui police have identified the driver of a motorcycle that was killed in a crash Monday night as 32-year-old Saul Sanders.

Police say Sanders ran a red light and crashed his motorcycle into a truck.

The crash happened at the intersection of Cane Haul Road and Mokulele highway just before 11 p.m. Monday night.

Sanders' motorcycle caught fire after slamming into the truck. Maui Police Sanders was wearing a helmet.

The driver of the truck was not injured.

There have been six fatal accidents on Maui this year that involved a motorcycle.
