Hawaii News Now Thursday: No Jail Time for Oahu Teacher

Hawaii News Now Wednesday: No Jail Time for an Oahu Teacher

A Kailua High School teacher accused of hitting one of his students with a hammer will not have to spend time in jail. Prosecutors were seeking a 1 year jail-term for David Izumi. The incident left a student with a 3-inch gash in his head. We'll hear from him and his father tonight at 5.

Also, we now know the name of the teenager whose body was found this morning behind a Taco Bell in Waianae.

Gas prices continue to rise in Hawaii. Our Jim Mendoza talks with residents who say they're dealing with the pain at the pump by riding a bike to work. He'll also show us what other gas alternatives are available to us.

And.. You're not the only one going all out for Halloween! It seems more Americans aren't "spooked" to spend money during these tough economic times.

Hope you join Shawn Ching, Ben Gutierrez and me tonight on Hawaii News Now at 5 & 5:30!

Aloha!
