HONOLULU (HawaiiNewsNow) – Hawaii senior outside hitter Kanani Danielson has been named Western Athletic Conference Volleyball Player of the Week for the week of Sept. 19-25.
This is the second WAC Player of the Week honor of the season and 10th of her career for Danielson.
Danielson made history during Thursday's win over Idaho. She became just the seventh player in program history to record 1,000 kills and 1,000 digs for a career.
Danielson guided UH to a 2-0 week with wins over Idaho and Utah State, averaging 5.38 kills on .383 hitting, 2.62 digs, 1.25 blocks, and 6.19 points per set. She had two double-doubles for her WAC-leading 10th double-double of the season, and had a season-high 24 kills to go along with 19 digs against Utah State.
Hawaii continues WAC play this week, hosting Nevada on Thursday, Sept. 29, and Fresno State on Saturday, Oct. 1.
