HONOLULU (HawaiiNewsNow)-Dr. Robert Sears to Present Free Lectures on Autism in Honolulu. Through the generous sponsorship of Nordic Naturals the Hawaii Chapter of Talk About Curing Autism (TACA) is pleased to present two free lectures on autism with pediatrician Dr. Robert Sears.
The first presentation is a "physician only" lecture entitled, "Autism: Early Detection, Effective Multidisciplinary Treatments, and Hope." This lecture will take place in the 2nd floor sanctuary of the Kaimuki Christian Church at 5:30. (Registration begins at 5:15pm)
The second presentation, which immediately follows the physician talk, is designed for families living with autism. This parent lecture is entitled, "Autism: Simple and Effective Treatments and Prevention." It will commence at 7:00pm, with registration opening at 6:45pm.
Both talks will address:
• Special diets – how to decide what's right for your child
• Vitamin and nutritional supplements – picking the right ones for your child
• Treating intestinal infections
• Resolving diarrhea and/or constipation
• How to access more specialized treatments
• New treatments and more!
Robert W. Sears, MD is board-certified in Pediatrics and the author of The Autism Book: What Every Parent Needs to Know About Early Detection, Treatment, Recovery, and Prevention in the Sears Parenting Library. "Dr. Bob", as he likes to be called by his little patients, earned his medical degree at Georgetown University School of Medicine in 1995. He did his pediatric internship and residency at Children's Hospital Los Angeles, finishing in 1998.
Dr. Bob has appeared on the Dr. Phil show to offer advice on child behavior and parenting issues. He has also appeared on the Ellen DeGeneris show, CNN's House Calls with Dr. Sanjay Gupta, the CBS Early Show, and PBS's "A Place of Our Own".
Additionally, Dr. Bob is co-author of The Updated Baby Book, The Premature Baby Book, The Baby Sleep Book 2005 and Father's First Steps: 25 Things Every New Dad Should Know.
