Officer hurt in H-1 crash out of hospital

HONOLULU (HawaiiNewsNow) - The HPD officer injured in a crash that killed a fellow officer has been released from the hospital.

56-year-old Herman Scanlan was released from the Queen's Medical Center on Thursday.

He suffered serious injuries last Tuesday after being hit by a pickup truck during a traffic stop on Farrington Highway.

Funeral services for officer Eric Fontes are next Friday.
