(HawaiiNewsNow) - APEC isn't one meeting but several. The East-West Center is helping to set up the Pacific Basin Economic Council Meeting. It's November 9 and 10 at the Waikiki Beach Marriott.
One speaker will be Mark Spiegel, Director for the Center for Pacific Basin Studies at the Federal Reserve Bank of San Francisco, whose jurisdiction includes Hawaii. Another will be Yu Ping, Vice Chairman of the China Council for the Promotion of International Trade.
High-ranking energy and agriculture department officials are coming to speak as well.
The Halekulani will host a APEC Business Advisory Council Symposium.
That will be about how small-to-medium enterprises go global by expanding into new markets.
The full agenda for both of these meetings is posted on apec2011hawaii.com.
