DENVER (HawaiiNewsNow) – University of Hawai'i freshman outside hitter Jane Croson has been named Western Athletic Conference Volleyball Player of the Week.
The honor was announced today by the WAC for matches played from Sept 12-18.
This was the first WAC Player of the Week honor for Croson, who has started every match this season for the Rainbow Wahine.
The Los Alamitos, Calif., native posted a pair of double-doubles as she led UH to two wins over current No. 19 Pepperdine. She opened the week with 10 kills and a career-high 19 digs, then the following night, Croson posted a career-high 23 kills, the most this season by a Hawai'i player.
She also added 19 digs for her fifth career double-double. For the week, Croson averaged 4.13 kills, 4.25 digs and 0.38 service aces per set.
The 'Bows hit the road this week for the first time this season, as they open WAC play at Idaho (Sept. 22) and Utah State (Sept. 24).
