HONOLULU (HawaiiNewsNow) - Some Hawaii students had a rare chance to connect with a couple of local Lions Club members, all the way in Afghanistan.
Jim Bryan and Gary Bowersox are on a humanitarian mission, passing out care packages, which were packed and donated by students at Sacred Hearts and La Pietra.
The students connected with the Lions via Skype, and asked them what it's like being in the war-torn country.
"All of the places where we distributed your eyeglasses, there was no protection", said Jim Bryan, of the Kamehameha Lions Club.
Bryan and Bowersox hope to be back in Hawaii in a few days.
