WAIKIKI (HawaiiNewsNow) - The Marriott Waikiki is now ready for electric vehicles.
Officials announced that charging stations were installed in the hotel's parking lot.
The Marriott is one of more than 300 planned parking lot sites across the state.
It's all part of an $820,000 state grant paid for with stimulus money.
The "green" option complies with the new state law requiring a portion of all publicly available parking lots of a certain size to become EV ready.
Those lots have until the end of the year to comply.
