Investigators are looking into the cause of a fire in Kakaako. Firefighters received the call shortly before 2:30 this morning. The fire happened near Kiyo's Transmission Service, according to our crew at the scene.

HAPPENING TODAY:

You'll have a chance to comment on a proposed tuition hike at the University of Hawaii. Next year's tuition could go up $132 to $4,332 a semester under the proposal. By fall 2016, tuition could be raised to $5,688 a semester. Today's public meeting is at 1 p.m. at Windward Community College.

COP ON TOP FUNDRAISER AT 6:10 & 7:10 & 8:20

The annual Cop on Top fundraiser starts today at various locations statewide. There is a shortage of law enforcement officers participating this year due to APEC training and other commitments. Our Minna Sugimoto volunteered to climb to the top of the scaffolding at Koko Marina Center and spend three days there to raise funds for Special Olympics Hawaii. We'll have live reports from her.

September is National Ovarian Cancer Awareness Month. Three ovarian cancer survivors from Hawaii are opening up about their challenging journeys as they try to help save lives.
