The suspect accused in a crash that killed a Honolulu police officer near Ko Olina has been released pending further investigation. Results from an intoxilyzer test showed that no alcohol was detected in James Dorsey's system. He reportedly told officers that he fell asleep at the wheel.

Unionized workers at the Hyatt Regency Waikiki ended their 7-day strike overnight. The walkout involved properties in Hawaii, Los Angeles, Chicago and San Francisco.

HAPPENING TODAY:

A former Kaneohe-based marine will be awarded one of the nation's highest honors today. Dakota Meyer will be given the Medal of Honor for saving 13 marines and Army soldiers in Afghanistan in 2009.
