No Tsunami after 6.4 Quake in Vancouver

Vancouver, Canada (HawaiiNewsNow) - A powerful 6.4 magnitude earthquake has rocked Vancouver island, Canada.

According to the U.S.G.S the quake hit 179 miles west north-west of Victoria, British Columbia. The quake had an original magnitude of 6.7 but the U.S.G.S lowered it to 6.4.

It was at a depth of 4.5 miles.

The U.S. Geological Survey says the quake struck at 9:41 a.m. Hawaii time and did not generate a tsunami.

The Pacific Tsunami Warning Center says that a destructive Pacific-wide Tsunami is not expected and there is no Tsunami threat to Hawaii.
