HAPPENING TODAY:

Two 24-year-old men are in critical condition after a car crash in Kalihi. Police reopened all lanes of Nimitz Highway in both directions between Waiakamilo Road and Alakawa Street around 1 o'clock this morning. A negligent injury case is pending.

Nearly 20 homes were affected by a water main break in Wahiawa. The 2-inch pipe broke around 12:20 a.m. along Lake View Circle.

Federal officials are stepping up security after receiving a specific and credible terror threat to Washington, D.C. and New York. Investigators are looking into possible plots aimed at bridges or tunnels.
