MAUI (HawaiiNewsNow) - Haleakala National Park is closing the Holua campground for two nights starting Thursday in an attempt to get rid of an infestation of Argentine ants.

The park will be using a poison that is not toxic to humans or other animals.

The Argentine ant is an invasive species that could harm native insects and plants.

Haleakala will also be closed Sept. 22.
