HONOLULU (HawaiiNewsNow) - New details have surfaced in a Maui murder investigation.
According to KION News, Celestial Cassman sent a text message to a friend in Santa Cruz, Calif. calling Maui "fabulous" just one day before she was found dead at the bottom of a cliff.
According to officials, Cassman's body was found Thursday after she was spotted arguing with a 38-year-old man from Santa Cruz, who then jumped off the cliff into the ocean when police arrived on scene.
The Lake County Record Bee newspaper reports that the man's name is Gerald Galaway, and that a judge decided there was probable cause to hold him on murder and kidnapping charges.
According to police, the suspect remains in the hospital on Wednesday.
Cassman was born in Hawaii, but worked as an attorney in Santa Cruz.
Friends say they'll remember her love, smile and warmth.
