HONOLULU (Hawaii News Now) – The Warrior football team started off their season on the right foot and it all begin with the two feet that belong to Bryant Moniz.
The Leilehua Grad ran for 151 yards and three touchdowns (completing 20-33 passes for 178 yards and a TD) as the University of Hawaii defeated the University of Colorado 34-17 in Halawa.
Hawaii's defense held the Buffs to 17 total yards rushing, surrendering just .61 yards per carry. Defensive end Paipai Falemalu added two sacks while UH's defensive unit racked up six quarterback sacks, all after half time.
UH improves to 1-0 and will take their show on the road next week when they play the University of Washington (1-0).
