HONOLULU (HawaiiNewsNow) - A man who kidnapped a girl and forced her into prostitution was sentenced to ten years in prison Thursday.
28-year-old Mukadin Daquin Gordon held the teenage girl against her will in his Waikiki apartment last year.
In court papers, prosecutors say that the girl showed up at the apartment after having an argument with her mother. The girl eventually asked Gordon if she could go to see her ex-boyfriend, to which Gordon said no "there will be no more of that".
The girl then asked if she could go for a walk and Gordon told her that she could not leave. Later on the girl covertly messaged her sister that she was being held against her will via Facebook. Investigators say she indicated that she was in fear for her life and gave the address of the apartment.
