(HawaiiNewsNow) - For the first time, the Hawaii Foodbank is partnering with the world's largest private hunger relief program, Yum! Brands' (KFC, Taco Bell, Pizza Hut) "World Hunger Relief".
"A Toast to End Hunger" is an Italian-themed food and wine tasting event featuring live entertainment. Chef David Saccomano of Gordon Biersch will prepare salads, pasta dishes, entrée tasters and mini desert shots.
Nearly 200 silent auction items available for bidding. Live auction for a personal chef and personal trainer. Guests will be automatically entered to win an iPad2. Raffle drawing for and Island Energy surfboard
On Saturday, Aug. 27, the Hawaii Foodbank will also host its 7th Annual Hunger Walk that supports more than 250 member agencies that distribute food in their respective communities
Proceeds will be divided evenly amongst both non-profit organizations. The Hawaii Foodbank feeds more than 186,000 people on Oahu
Funds collected for the World Hunger Relief program go toward the United Nations' World Food Programme (WFP). For 2011, the goal is to assist more than 90 million people around the world with food assistance
