4 acres damaged in Maui brush fire

HONOLULU (HawaiiNewsNow) - Firefighters on Maui were busy putting out a brush fire Monday night.

According to officials, the fire broke in West Maui across from Launiupoko near Kahaleku Road.

Firefighters arrived on scene shortly before 3:30 p.m.

The fire was put out just before 10:30 p.m.

Officials say some electrical wires are down which caused some slow downs in the area on Monday, but no roads were closed.

About four acres were scorched in the blaze.

The cause of the fire is unknown at this time.
