HONOLULU (HawaiiNewsNow) - The Honolulu Police Department's motorcycle officers were seen zipping around Oahu's roadways Monday in preparation for upcoming assignments, including the Asia-Pacific Economic Cooperation conference.

Members of HPD's Solo Bike Detail are expected to perform escort duties for the visiting dignitaries in November. On Monday, about 25 officers on motorcycles were seen practicing their formations on Lagoon Drive near the Honolulu International Airport.

The summit is expected to attract some 20,000 attendees, including the leaders of the 21 APEC member economies.
