Oahu falls in Cal Ripken World Series

ABERDEEN, Md. (HawaiiNewsNow) - An Oahu team fell just short of the finals of the Cal Ripken World Series of Babe Ruth Baseball Saturday.

The Eastside (Oahu) team, the Pacific Southwest Champion, fell to Ohio Valley, 10-0, in four innings in the national championship game in Aberdeen, Maryland. The game was called early due to the ten-run mercy rule.

Ohio Valley advances to the world championship game Sunday against international champion Japan.

The Cal Ripken World Series involves teams of players 11-12 years old.
