Happy Aloha Friday!

HAPPENING TODAY:

Malika will be live at the National Weather Service to talk to forecasters preparing for Tropical Storm Fernanda. The storm could weaken into a tropical depression within 24 hours, and could dissipate into a remnant low in 48 hours. The system is expected to pass south of the Big Island on Sunday or Monday.

Police are searching for a suspect after calling off a high speed chase overnight in Pearl City. The driver refused to pull over for a routine traffic stop. Police stopped the chase because of the high speed.

SUNRISE SEGMENTS:

BACK TO SCHOOL AT 7:10

Are you tired of paying for expensive college textbooks? Four Hawaii students have teamed up to create a new online marketplace. The free website allows students to save money by buying and selling their books without having to head to the campus bookstore.

"CIRQUE DE LIMA" AT 7:40 & 8:40

You've heard of Cirque du Soleil, but what about Cirque De Lima? St. Francis Healthcare Foundation of Hawaii is hosting a tribute to comedian Frank De Lima. Proceeds from the event will be used to build an Intergenerational Center which combines a preschool and adult day care.

Hope you can join us this morning and thanks for being part of our Sunrise family!

Aloha,

Lisa Kubota
