HONOLULU (HawaiiNewsNow) - A woman with serious head injuries was rescued from Kalalau Trail, on the Na'pali Coast, Kauai late Wednesday night.
Just before 9 p.m. the Kauai Fire Department called the Coast Guard at Barbers Point on Oahu to help with the rescue.
The crew aboard the MH-65 Dolphin helicopter arrived on scene at 10:40 p.m.
A Coast Guard rescue swimmer was lowered to the ground. He hiked to the injured woman's location, eventually she was safely hoisted into the Dolphin at 11:16 p.m.
The 25-year-old woman was taken to Lihue Airport and transferred to awaiting emergency medical technicians for further medical treatment.
The cause of the woman's injuries are unknown as is her current condition.
