3.5 quake shakes Big Island

HONOLULU (HawaiiNewsNow) - Some residents on the Big Island of Hawaii were shaken by a magnitude 3.5 earthquake Wednesday afternoon.

According to the U.S. Geological Survey, the quake occurred at 11:19 a.m. on the southeastern flank of Mauna Loa near Pahala, 43 miles southwest of Hilo.

The earthquakes depth was 5 miles.
