Teen arrested in bus stop beating death

HONOLULU (HawaiiNewsNow) - Honolulu police arrested a teenager in connection with the beating death of a man at a Liliha bus stop.

A 17-year-old was arrested Monday on suspicion of second-degree murder.

Police say the teen approached 64-year-old John Abiliey Jr. at the bus stop near the School Street intersection about 6:40 p.m. on Aug. 5.

Police say the teen then started punching and kicking him.

The medical examiner ruled Abiliey died of blunt force injuries to the head.

The teen has been released pending investigation.
