HONOLULU (HawaiiNewsNow) - A man accused of entering a dorm room at the University of Hawaii Manoa campus and fondling a female student in August of last year will not fight the charges.

Scott Wandersee on Tuesday pleaded no contest to first-degree burglary and two counts of fourth-degree sexual assault. The 19-year-old faces up to 10 years in prison when he is sentenced in December.

Prosecutors say Wandersee obtained the dorm key of a 17-year-old girl, used it to get into her room while she was getting ready for bed, and fondled her as she repeatedly asked him to leave. They believe he was intoxicated at the time.

Wandersee is asking for a deferral, which is a chance to keep the felony and misdemeanor convictions off his record.
