Music from around the world and across the centuries will be featured in solo and duo sets by Ben Verdery, chair of the classical guitar department at Yale University, and 2011 Grammy Award nominee, local favorite Jeff Peterson.
Named as "one of the classical guitar world's most foremost personalities," by Classical Guitar Magazine, "an American original, and American master," by Guitar Review Magazine, and "iconoclastic" and "inventive" by the New York Times, Benjamin Verdery enjoys an innovative and eclectic musical career. Ben's infectious personality, wonderful command of the guitar, and spirit of musical adventure have captivated audiences worldwide.
Ben and Jeff are thrilled to be able to collaborate on this program featuring original compositions, classical music, world music, and slack key tunes. Jeff Peterson has felt the influence of Ben's artistry for years and is looking forward to the collaboration.
