Kamehameha Highway contraflowed after Jeep crashes into pole

HONOLULU (HawaiiNewsNow) - A Waikane Valley crash sent one man to the hospital early Tuesday morning.

According to officials, the single-vehicle crash happened on Kamehameha Highway near Kamaka Place at around 2:30 a.m.

Police say the driver of a Jeep crashed into a pole after he fell asleep at the wheel.

He was taken to the Castle Medical Center in good condition and sustained minor injuries.

According to Hawaiian Electric Company, 200 customers are without power.

HECO crews are at the scene and have contraflowed the two-lane highway.

No disruption for The Bus service has been reported.
