Moving to Manoa, UH students back to class

MANOA (HawaiiNewsNow) - As many as 4,000 students are moving into UH Manoa housing this week.

The big move starts August 16 and continues until August 19.

Traffic may be heavy around the residence halls as early as Monday, August 15, with a large number of early arrivals.

The official Manoa Move-In is scheduled for Tuesday, August 16 to Friday, August 19, which is a state holiday (Admissions Day), starting at 8:30 a.m. on all three days, and may affect traffic on Dole Street and University Avenue. But traffic might be heavy even before that starting today on August 15 because of early arrivals.

Motorists are advised to be especially vigilant along Dole Street due to the increased traffic activity, and frequent stopping or slowing of cars.

On Tuesday, from 9:00 a.m. to 3:00 p.m., the east-bound lane of Dole Street fronting Johnson Hall will be coned off to assist with active unloading. No parking will be allowed along Dole Street during moving hours.

On Thursday, August 18, students checking into Hale Anuenue, Gateway House (non-freshmen) and Frear Hall will be queued along Lower Campus Road from 8:00 a.m. to 5:00 p.m.

On Friday, August 19, residents of Hale Noelani and Hale Wainani apartments will move in.
