Hawaii recognized for nuclear safety

HONOLULU (HawaiiNewsNow) - The National Nuclear Security Administration says Hawaii and the City and County of Honolulu are doing their part to improve nuclear safety.

The agency recognized Hawaii for voluntary security enhancements including radiological training for first responders to prevent nuclear material from being lost or stolen.

The NNSA also notes the importance of the safety steps ahead of November's Asia-Pacific Economic Cooperation summit.
