HONOLULU (HawaiiNewsNow) - Stiff sentences for two men convicted of stabbing and robbing a taxi driver in Manoa in 2008.
Circuit Judge Colette Garibaldi Wednesday sentenced 24-year-old John Walton to a life term with possibility of parole and 36-year-old Courage Lee Elkshoulder to a maximum 20-year term.
Courage Elkshoulder was convicted of assault and robbery, while John Walton was convicted of attempted murder and robbery.
According to prosecutors, Elkshoulder and Walton ordered the cabbie to drive to the back of Manoa Valley and then attacked him.
The victim, Minh Tran, recovered from his stab wounds and testified at the trial.
