HONOLULU (HawaiiNewsNow) - Honolulu city employees will soon be sharing their work cars.
Forty-four vehicles from six departments will be consolidated into one motorpool.
They will use an automated reservation system to allow city employees to check out and return vehicles.
According to officials, it will save gas and maintenance costs.
The city hopes to expand the program to more departments.
Phase two of the program is set for next year.
