WAIKIKI (HawaiiNewsNow) - A fire gutted an abandoned warehouse in Waikiki Monday afternoon.
Honolulu firefighters responded to the fire at 12:44 p.m., they had it under control by 12:54 p.m.
Officials say the fire at 1687 Kalakaua Ave. started in the front left corner of an office storage room at a vacant car wash.
Honolulu police initially closed all Waikiki bound lanes of Kalakaua while firefighters fought the blaze. Police reopened all lanes at 1:28 p.m.
Investigators are looking into what caused the fire.
Damages are currently estimated at $40,000, but no one was reported hurt.
