In Your Community - Today State Water Commission will hold the first of two public hearings

On the Island of Hawaii today, the State Water Commission will hold the first of two public hearings on water use and development.  The goal is to shape long-range conservation of the island's water resources. The meeting takes place at 6 o'clock at Konawaena High.  Another one will be held tomorrow at Waiakea High School. .

Heads up for Kauai swimmers.  The Kapaa swimming pool closes to the public at 1 PM today so the fire department can conduct training sessions at the facility. The pool will stay closed through tomorrow and reopen Friday at 7:30 am.

Is your child's car seat safe?  Find out this Saturday at Windward United Church of Christ.  Technicians certified by the National Highway Traffic Safety Administration will conduct free inspections of child car and booster seats between 12:30 and 2:30 PM. Get there early-- people will be helped on a first-come, first served basis. The event is sponsored by Kaiser Permanente Hawaii.
