Fire at Waipahu home displaces five people

WAIPAHU (HawaiiNewsNow) - Five people are homeless after a fire ripped through part of a Waipahu home Tuesday evening.

Honolulu Firefighters responded to the call on Pilimai Street at 5:53 p.m.

Honolulu Fire Department spokesperson Capt. Terry Seelig says the fire was reported under control at 6:21 p.m.

Three people were in the home at the time of the fire. One man was hurt but declined to go to the hospital.

The cause of the fire and damages to the home have not yet been determined.
