Delta Aquarids meteor shower happening Friday

HONOLULU (HawaiiNewsNow) - Friday night may be the best time to see shooting stars this year.

The Delta Aquarids meteor shower is happening.

Viewers can expect to see 15 to 30 shooting stars per hour.

The moon will be nearly new, which means dark skies.

The actual peak when the most meteors fall is mid-August, but the moon will be full then, so shooting stars won't be as visible.
