No tsunami after 6.7 quake near Fiji

EWA BEACH (HawaiiNewsNow) - The Pacific Tsunami Warning Center says no tsunami was generated from a strong earthquake that hit South of the Fiji islands.

The 6.7 magnitude earthquake struck at 9:42 p.m. Hawaii time. The quake was centered 328 miles below the sea bed in the Pacific Ocean about 226 miles SSW of Ndoi Island, Fiji.

Again, according to the Pacific Tsunami Warning Center in Ewa Beach, a destructive Pacific wide tsunami is not expected and there is no tsunami threat to Hawaii
