Bookkeeper pleads not guilty to stealing from Mission Houses Museum

HONOLULU (HawaiiNewsNow) - A bookkeeper accused of overpaying herself while she worked at the Mission Houses Museum in Honolulu pleaded not guilty at her arraignment at Circuit Court Thursday morning.

Judy Vierra is charged with first-degree theft and unauthorized computer use.

The defendant entered her plea via video hook-up from the Oahu Community Correctional Center. She remains in custody, unable to post $11,000 bail.

Vierra allegedly confessed to stealing about $50,000 from her employer.

Her trial is tentatively set for September.
