Parent company of Hawaiian Airlines reports $50M net loss

HONOLULU (HawaiiNewsNow) - The parent company of Hawaiian Airlines reported a net loss of $50 million for the last quarter, which ended last month.

The loss is partially related to buying 15 Boeing 717-200 aircraft out of lease.

The operating revenue was $395 million.

CEO Mark Dunkerly says strong demand was undone by the high cost of fuel, which was up more than 72 percent from last year.
