Rescue efforts resumed for stranded hikers in Kualoa Valley

HONOLULU (HawaiiNewsNow) - Honolulu Fire Department crews resumed rescue operations Wednesday morning for two hikers stranded in Windward Oahu.

According to officials, the men were hiking from Kaaawa and ended up on a ridge in Kualoa Valley.

Rescue crews received the call Tuesday evening, but were unable to fly the hikers out due to poor weather conditions.

Officials say the men are not hurt. HFD crews are in contact with the hikers via cell phone.
